The cuisine of Rincón de la Victoria is marked by the freshness of its fish. The king of fish is the "boquerón victoriano" (a local anchovy), and from 23rd to 25th September 2016 a series of gastronomic events featuring it take place.
We also celebrate the Feria de la Tapa, from 2nd to 5th June 2016, an event that attracts thousands of visitors.
The first weekend of March the "Jornada Gastronómica de la Cuchara" is celebrated, in which visitors can savour the traditional dishes of our region.
Here you can also sample our tasty espetos de sardinas (sardine skewers), accompanied by zoque (our traditional version of gazpacho) and ajoblanco (another chilled soup based on garlic).
Other typical dishes include maimones (soup made with bread, tomato, oil, garlic and clams), potaje de hinojos (fennel stew), berza (a kind of vegetable stew), as well as borrachuelos (traditional fried pastries) and pestiños (pastries fried and soaked in a honey syrup served at Christmas). All washed down with good wine made by our neighbours in Moclinejo.
Highlights also include fruits such as the breba (an early fig), prickly pear, muscat grape, fig, avocado, mango, etc.
